How do I enroll?

Enrollment is done online at You will enter information about your child (name, age), billing information, and be prompted to agree/disagree to two things: photo release and allow text messages (mainly for inclement weather and illness cancellations). Once this is done, you are in the system, and can add children, classes or change classes at any time. 

How much do classes cost?

Kindermusik tuition is $60/month for the first child and $50 for siblings. By enrolling online Kindermusik makes it easy for you to pay your bill through automatic deduction once a month on the 15th of the month. Classes are ongoing and run 40 weeks of the year with 14 weeks off (holidays and 3 long 4 week breaks). There is no bill during the months of August, December or May. If you choose to take a break for a month, we can hold your spot in class by pausing your tuition installment. If you wish to unenroll completely Michelle can do that for you too. You will need to let Michelle know by the 1st of the month for the month you will stop payment and classes.  If pausing payment, your spot is held and you resume participation the next month. If you are unenrolled, you still have access to your account and can re-enroll at any time! 


What is included with my Kindermusik tuition?

Weekly classes of 45 minute research based, carefully designed age appropriate lessons, Free online Kindermusik digital home materials including music, e-books, activities and other parental resources, and an invitation to our Private Facebook Group where you can connect with families outside of class, share ideas, and communicate with your teachers.  

Which class should I enroll my child in?

Kindermusik is designed with both age specific classes as well as Mixed Age classes. This allows parents the flexibility to choose a class by age and developmental level, or to bring multiple children to the same class. Click here to learn more about each developmental level.

May I enroll my child in a class for children of a different age group?

This is completely up to you.  I encourage you to start out in the level designed for your child's age, or choose a Mixed Age class if you are desiring opportunities for your child to interact with children of varying ages. "Levels" of classes are carefully constructed by Kindermusik International based on developmental stages of children's growth, and classes are designed with age appropriate activities, songs, and movements to meet the specific needs of that age group.   I am always happy to chat with you to help you decide on the mst appropriate for your child. 

Are Discounts or Gift Certificates available?

While we don't offer regular discounts, occasionally we will run a special so keep your eyes open for these on our website and FB page - typically during peak enrollment periods or during special events. 

Yes, Gift Certificates in the amount of your choice are available! Often, grandparents or family members will purchase a couple months of tuition for a child for a birthday or Christmas gift - what a great gift to give and receive! One month of Kindermusik is $60, with the sibling discount of $50 per sibling. Please email me to obtain gift certificates or ask about them when you are in the studio. 

May I bring a friend with me to class?

We LOVE friends, and I will do my best to accommodate occasional visitors. However, because our classes are limited in participants (12 per class) and we have an open door policy for make up lessons, we cannot guarantee a space in the class for a friend.  If it is possible for them to schedule a time to visit, each month we have FREE PREVIEW classes where they are able to go online and register to reserve their spot. This is a great way to introduce your friends to the JOY of Kindermusik!

How can I help my child get the most out of each class?
  • Plan to arrive a few minutes before your class in order to park, come in and remove your shoes/coats and wash or sanitize your hands. We try to keep as many germs at bay so that we all stay healthy.  In addition, you don't want to miss the first 5-8 minutes of class as this is intentional unstructured "gathering time" which allows you and your child to settle into the musical environment and socialize with the families in your class. 

  • I ask that you NOT BRING toys, juice cups, and snacks to class.  We are sensitive to food allergies and these items can also be a big distraction to toddlers. 

  • Please take your child to the 'potty' prior to class, so they won’t have to miss our fun!

  • Dress comfortably and leave shoes in the waiting room. We get active and want everyone to be comfortable and safe! 

  • During class, please reserve conversing with other parents to a minimum. We love it when parents connect (and encourage relationships!) but ask that you do this during gathering and goodbye rituals so as not to distract from the children's experiences.    

  • I encourage that you make regular use of the online "At Home Materials" and engage your children in the weekly activities - this can make a BIG difference in their comfort and participation in the classroom, as well as making the most of their learning! 

What is your policy on makeup classes?  

Classes will be made up in the case of teacher illness and for classes cancelled due to inclement weather. These classes will be added to a special "make up week"  in May.  IF you miss a class you are always welcome to attend another class - please just let Michelle know when you are hoping to come as some classes may be full. 


What is your sick policy?

If your child is sick, please do not bring them to class.  Kids should be fever/diarrhea free for 24 hours and without antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to class. I appreciate it when you can all or email me when your child is sick. This allows me to plan accordingly and offer a make up to someone else. You are welcome to make up your class in by attending another class - please just let Michelle know when you would like to come. 

What is your policy on Inclement Weather?

We will follow Cedar Falls schools CLOSING schedule. If school is delayed or closed for the day, all DAY classes will be canceled that day, but we may keep evening classes open. If school CLOSES EARLY in the afternoon, then afternoon and evening classes will be canceled.  *By toggling the Allow Text Messages in you account, you will be set up to receive text alerts from us when class is cancelled.

May I bring non-enrolled siblings to class?

Older Siblings: Because our classes are limited to 12 children and we work on building rapport, relationship and a feeling of safety in our classrooms, we are unable to REGULARLY accommodate non-enrolled OLDER siblings.  However, in a pinch, they are welcome, as long as you bring a quiet activity for them to do while sitting quietly along the sides of the room or in the waiting room. 

Young infants (under 6 months): Babies contained in their arriers/baby seats are welcome to observe our fun! However, once they regularly come OUT of their baby seat, we ask that you enroll them in a class - either our Foundations class (ages 0-12 months) or a Mixed Ages class with your older children.

Can a nanny or grandparent attend class with my child?

 We know that parents today are busier than ever.  It is not uncommon for a child to attend class with a nanny or grandparent.  To the extent possible we prefer that the same individual attend class each week in order to ensure the child gets comfortable with a routine and the caregiver becomes familiar with the songs, activities, and expectations of the class.

Where should I nurse or diaper my child?

There is a diaper changer and wipes in the bathroom in the hall. There are also feminine products for your convenience.  You may feed your baby anywhere you choose. There are chairs in the studio and in the waiting room

What is your refund policy?

We are committed to your 100% satisfaction. You are able to pause enrollment or unenroll at any time by notifying me in writing (email) by the 1st of the month in which you choose to pause or unenroll. Doing this by the 1st of the month, or the latest, you will avoid being charged the automatic tuition installment on the 15th of the month.  AND, all you need to do to re-enroll is go back into your account at and re-enroll for the class of your choice.  All Playdates and Camps are non-refundable due to the short nature of the enrollment period. I do understand that things happen in life so please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about enrollment and billing. 

What is my role as a Kindermusik parent?

During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active, enthusiastic participant and a patient role model. While your child is more likely to follow your lead if you are a focused and enthusiastic participant, it is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling completely comfortable in class. Don't be discouraged. What the child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment. So, DO talk about the activities at home, re-enact them and use the Kindermusik online materials to gain the most of your Kindermusik experience

What if my child is off task during his/her class?

Kindermusik is a very child centered program.  Don't worry if your child wants to do the activity in a different way than suggested...Variety is encouraged and often leads to the rest of the class learning something new too!  Your child may need to get out of the circle and into a special corner to participate, and that is great.  Rather than try to get those wiggly kiddos to conform to the activity, go to where they are and match the activity to the child.  If your child is off task, or misbehaving the first thing to do is RELAX.  Redirect them to participate in the activity in a positive way.  Often this can get them back on task and remedy the misbehavior.  Sometimes what "looks" like a child off task is really a child RESPONDING to the music!  If your child likes to "move and groove", encourage it!   

PLEASE be sensitive to the other students in class and INTERVENE immediately if SAFETY is a concern or if your child's behavior is compromising the learning experience for others.  Children are all learning how to function in a group environment, so being attentive to your child during class will help him/her learn appropriate social skills.
