Modern Day Heroes

On Sunday our church will recognize to young ladies that will be going into the mission field.  Both of these girls are simply amazing, they have truly given their life to Christ and are following his example.  Both are college graduates, both had lots of career opportunities, but both have set all these things aside to go to the world and spread the message of Christ.

I can’t imagine what it must feel like to be the parent of one of these two.  To see your daughter grow and devote themselves to the spread of the gospel in a foreign land.  Man that is amazing, and must also be extremely stressful.  Margaret is headed to Laos and Sarah is headed to the Philippines.  Both are going as self supported missionaries.

Just to think our church has been around for well over a 100 years, and we have had many surrender to the ministry, but I don’t believe we have ever had to surrender to become missionaries.  These guys truly are modern day heroes.

Looking forward to the weekend

Man we had an awesome day of worship last Sunday. Can’t wait for Sunday. Plus its Easter! Powerful service Sunday morning at Bethel, if you are in North Mississippi and need a place to go come see us, 445 Bethel Church Road, Fulton, MS. http://www.bethelbc.net. Carli is going to be sing Healing Is In Your Hands, going to be awesome.

Something I haven’t ever seen

I was honored to run sound and video for a wedding this weekend.  I am sure most of you are thinking you could find a better thing to do with your Friday and Saturday night.  Normally I could to, but this wasn’t just any wedding.  I couldn’t think of two more devoted young people, not just to each other, but to serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  The ceremony was simple but the message was clear, in everything we do, do in service, and honor of our Lord.  To top it off the kiss at the end of the wedding was there first!  Yes after two or three years of dating this was their first ever kiss……no that is keeping it real people.  How many of us can say that we completely saved ourselves for our spouses, even down to the kiss.  I think that really sent out a message to other young people at our church.

Great Night At Bethel

Man, awesome service tonight…God is really working in our church through our pastors and through our members. It is just awesome to be a part of it.

Great Week for Christ

Gonna be a great day I am sure. Lots of people at the marriage conference in Florence hope they are having as much fun as we did last year. Brother Robin is going to lead worship this morning, I am sure he will do an awesome job. He has a awesome heart for God. Connect should be great tonight, man some of my favorite worship songs tonight: Healer (Hillsong), What Do I Know of Holy (Addison Road), Marvelous Light (Charlie Hall), Mighty to Save (Hillsong), How Great is Our God (Chris Tomlin). Gonna be a great day for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ I know.

Been a really awesome week already, I can’t wait to see what today brings. I gave my testimony Wednesday night at Souled Out. First time I had ever really done that. Really tough for me to talk about losing my dad and the trials that I went through, but someone got saved. God is so good!

Great Sunday at Bethel

Man we had a great Sunday at Bethel!  Sunday morning we had a successful Relay for Life lunch.  We fed a couple hundred people some good food and raised money for a great cause.  Sunday night we had a awesome Connect service.  We are still together in the main sanctuary, and it was much better this week.  We play some great worship songs, and everyone was much more involved this week.  Man it makes it so much easier to play when the audience looks like they are enjoying what you are doing.  Bro. Tracy preached a great sermon on “Missions”.  He lays it out there for you and doesn’t care if you like what he is saying or not.  Man I am pumped about worship this week.  Can’t wait for Souled Out Wednesday night.  I really have a heart for the teens at our church.  They come from all walks of life, and I love them all.  I hate to think of one of them leaving out on Wednesday night and not knowing Jesus, but I know that happens.  Tracy is going through a great series in Souled Out right now on “what a Christian looks like”.  Powerful stuff.

Looking forward to great services today!

Looking forward to some great services today at Bethel.  Connect should be really good tonight, great songs for worship:

  • Not To Us
  • The Power of Your Name (Special)
  • Follow You
  • Lead Me To The Cross
  • How He Loves

Still in the main sanctuary this week, maybe everyone will loosen up a little bit.  Last week was pretty weird.  If you in North Mississippi and need somewhere to go to church check out Bethel.
